We won an Artistic Contest in Foreign Languagesin "Kuźnia" club in Nowa Huta
On the 5th April four students from year 3A participated in the sixteenth edition of this competition. We were performing a parody of „The Phantom of the Opera”. All of the short plays were presented In English this time, so it wasn’t easy to be better than the others.
Our school was represented by students who were not only actors, but also singers: Jakub Struzik (the author of the script), Pola Bielak, Olga Jeleń and Marcin Plata. The group was prepared by mgr Anna Zdebska. All the aspects of the performance were taken into consideration: text interpretation, singing, language correctness, choreography and props. We won the competition as the best “short play”. We hope to work hard and develop our English and drama competencies in the future.
WORKSHOPS IN LONDON
On 16th March a group of 59 school students with four school teachers went on an educational trip to London. We spent two days on a coach and four days visiting London, Oxford and Windsor. The timetable was full of great adventures.
DAY no 1. We visited Greeenwich with Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark; the City with its skyscrapers and after that we went to The Tower of London to admire the crown jewels and see beefeaters in their traditional uniforms. In the afternoon we walked through the Tower Bridge and passed by the Globe Theatre on our way to the Tate Modern Gallery. The last point of the day was St. Paul’s Cathedral. In the evening after the exhausting day of sightseeing we could meet our host families.
DAY no 2. We spent all day in Oxford and Windsor. We were wandering from one college to another trying to feel the atmosphere of this well-known university town. There were more bikes than cars in the streets. And everything was beautiful and monumental. We visited old round library, students dormitories, some churches and chapels. Summing up, we noticed Oxford as full of young people and old buildings. In Windsor we could get into the biggest and the the oldest Royal Castle in Europe. The size of the castle is impressive, the Royal chambers are awesome and an exhibition presenting Royal doll houses is incredible.
DAY no 3. We started this day in a long queue to the Natural History Museum. It was amazing- the building and the exhibitions. We had some time left to visit the Science Museum that is nearby. After those magnificient places everybody was looking forward to visit Madame Tussaud’s Museum. All the cameras were fully charged to take as many photos as possible. Another important point of the day was a ride in London Eye. Awesome views... Nice atmosphere... Great experience…
DAY no 4. It was the last day spent in London. What was left? We started from a walk around the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Then we moved to Trafalgar Square and visited National Gallery there. Then we moved towards the Buckingham Palace. We finally reached Soho and a visited Hamley’s- a huge department store with toys. After some free time to do some shopping in Primark or eat last English meal we went through Hyde Park directly to our coach and our journey back started.
A Nativity play or is a play which recounts the story of the Nativity of Jesus. On 22nd December, students performed a modern version of the nativity play. Apart from that school's choir sang Christmas carols. Students had also a chance to meet together in classes to eat Christmas specials and sang carols. You can see it in the photos.
NATALIA KACZMATEK - THE LAUREATE OF THE 14TH KRAKOW'S CONTEST OF TRADITIONAL
AND POLISH SONGS AS PART OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY
Natalia Kaczmarek, the second-class students, won the second place in the 14th Krakow's Contest of Traditional and Polish Songs that was organized to commemorate the Independence Day in Poland. There were more than 80 people who competed against each other.
11th ALL-POLAND FOOD COLLECTION - "YES, I CAN HELP"
From 9th - 10th December, there was all-Poland food collection organized by Caritas. Students had a chance to took part in that event. You can see it in the photos.
20TH CHRISTMAS FOOD COLLECTION
From 25th-27th November, in various shopping centers, a group of our students collected food for families in need. They encouraged customers to share food with those who try to make their ends meet. Our volunteers managed to collect plenty of food, thank you. It is also important to mention that 5th December was the International Volounteer Day. You can see it in the photos.
THIRD PZU CRACOVIA MARATHON
On 16th October, 37 students from our school took part as volounteers in Second PZU Cracovia Marathon. They gave contestants the so-called starting package. Students showed their involvement and ability to work in a group. You can see it in the photos.
SPELLING TEST "IN POLISH ABOUT HISTORY"
On 18th November, there as a gala devoted to the 4th Małopolska Province Independence Spelling Test "In Polish about History". More than 16 000 students from all Małopolska region took part in this contest. Among the laureates, there was student from our school - Grzegorz Choroszy.
PATRIOTIC EVENT AT SCHOOL
11th November 1918 is one of the best known dates in the Polish history. It is the national day celebrated to commemorate the anniversary of the restoration of Poland's sovereignty as the Second Polish Republic. On 9th November our school organized the so-called "Patriotic Event" during which students had a chance to sing patriotic songs with school's choir. Songs were interwoven with some interesting facts from history. You can see it in the photos.
On 7th November, students who took part in the Book Fair were asked to appear in the school's library where they were given gifts (new interesting books). You can see it in the photos.
"A SCHOLARSHIP FOR A CANDIDATE FOR ARCHITECTURE - B6"
We are delighted to inform that second-class student Karolina Taraska is the winner of the second edition of a competition "A scholarship for candidates for architecture" organized by Karolina Pacholewicz Foundation and Krakow's Drawing School "Black White".
"KAZIMIERZ DISTRICT - A DISTRICT OF TWO CULTURES.."
On 26th October, a group of first-class students went on a trip to Kazimierz district in Krakow. They had a chance to learn about the Jewish remnants of this districts, such as the most famous synagogues, Jewish cemetery. You can see it in the photos.
98th ANNIVERSARY OF KRAKÓW LIBERATION
This year is devoted to the 98th anniversary of Kraków liberation from the partitioners. So as to commemorate that event, on 28th October, there was a historical adaptation organized on the market square. First-class students had a chance to take part in that event. You can see it in the photos.
"Young people and global challenges"
On 28th October, a group of third-class students took part in a lecture and discussion on "Young people and global challenges". It was the first lecture as part of the project "Education is the window of the world". Students learnt about the beginnings of our planet, about the possible threats and planet's protection. Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools
This year our school is also involved in a European project called "Stars". The aim of this project is to travel to school on a bike so as not to pollute the environment. Students will also participate in various training workshops. On 26th October, the representatives of STARS project visited our school and gave a lecture on, e.g. sustainable public transport, the advantages and disadvantages of various means of transport. LESSONS AT CHEMISTRY LAB
Class 1E, is the class which realizes the pedagogical innovation aimed at working in, and developing knowledge of various scientific experiences. Students work in groups and carry out interesting research. You can see it in the photos.
AN INTEGRATION TRIP TO NIEPOŁOMICE
On 19th October, first-class students went on a trip to Niepołomice where they visited the Niepołomice Forest and took part in various games. They had also a barbecue. You can see it in the photos.
KNOWLEDGE OF GREAT BRITAIN - CONTEST
We would like to invite primary school students to test their knowledge about Great Britain. The contest is organized by English and IT teachers from our school. Students will be required to solve different multimedia questions available in an e-learning platform - Moodle.
THE SOLEMN OATH OF FIRST-CLASS STUDENTS
On 13th October, in the eve of the Day of the Commission of National Education, first-class students swore an oath and were admitted to Gimnazjum No. 7. They promised to work on their self-development, to develop their talents and to represent our school with dignity. Third-class representatives warmly greeted the first-class students and gave them symbolical gifts. You can see it in the photos.
On 28th September, a team of Maths-lovers from our school took part in the Maths contest organized by one of the Krakow's secondary schools, The team won second place, Congratulations! You can see it in the photos.
SOCIAL SELF IN ADOLESCENCE - WORKSHOP
On 8th October, in Auditorium Maximum, the building belonging to the Jagiellonian University, there was a workshop summarizing the project "Social Self in Adolescence". In the period of 2 years, students took part in meetings with psychologists from the Jagiellonian University. The main aim of this project was to evaluate the competence of students, how they react to different stimulants. At the end of the workshop, teachers were given a book that describes the conducted research. You can see it in the photos.
THE 12TH AUTUMNN FETE
The 12th Autumn Fete organized by Gimnazjum No 7 has come to an end. Thanks to the diverse programme and beautiful shiny weather, students (present and our graduates), their parents and fans of our school came to celebrate the 12th Autumn Fete. We were entertained by performances of both the Gimnazjum No 7 and its choir. Apart from that students enjoyed various dances aimed at greater integration.
Games and matches held at the school field and garden also attracted people’s attention. One could take part in various competitions (sweets were given for the winners!). Apart from the entertainment, everyone could try mouth-watering dishes( grilled sausages and the so-called “bigos” – stewed dish made of sauerkraut and/or fresh cabbage, meat and mushroom) at our culinary stand. AN ELECTION TO STUDENTS' COUNCIL
On 19th September, there was an election to Students' Council. Representatives from various classes were doing their best to present their views and promises. Other students had a chance to choose a person they liked the most. You can see it in the photos.
A TRIP TO THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
On 15th September, DSD group went on a trip to the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. They learnt many interesting things about the consulate in general. They also saw a movie about Polish-German cooperation. After that students had also a chance to solve various quizzes in German. You can see it in the photos.
27th GREY RANKS MEETING
From 9th till 11th September, there was the 27th Gray Ranks (a codename for the underground paramilitary Polish Scouting Association during World War II) meeting organized in Lubogoszcz. The main aim of this meeting was to promote history and customs of scouting among the young generation. The topic of this meeting was as follows: "Participation in scouting organizations in anti-communist conspiracy in the years 1945 - 1956". Students from our school took part in a location-based game, in which they travelled back in time to Stalin times and they were asked to solve various tasks and clues. Apart from that students took part in a lecture devoted to scouting conspiracy and saw an exhibition. You can see it in the photos.
THE SOLEMN BEGINNING OF A SCHOOL YEAR 2016/2017
The school year 2016/2017 has already begun and ended the carefree days of summer holidays. Now, it is high time to come back to school and meet new challenges. On 1st September the headmaster of Gimnazjum 7 warmly greeted new as well as present students and teachers. Not only did the headmaster mention the school duties, but she also encouraged students to work on their self-improvement. You can see it in the photos.
